St. Mary’s Bozeat belongs to a group of four churches, just south of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire.
Our vision is
“To grow numerically and spiritually across all ages groups with a special focus on younger people”
In order to increasingly become a growing, healthy, hospitable and vibrant church we have set our faces towards three specific initiatives:
Altering our pattern of Sunday services
St Mary’s has offered a traditional service every week for many years. Cafe Connections was developed 12 years ago twice a month to reach out to those who do not connect with traditional forms of Church. We are now in a phase where it is recognised a broader ‘diet’ of services is essential in order to achieve the vision. To this end, RISE, the All Age service, was developed just over three years ago and the 4th Sunday contemporary service began in September 2018. We plan to continue developing the pattern of services over the next year.
Re-ordering the church building
This is a long term project but it is important that our church building honours its history and significance, while preserving a space which enables us to be true to the mission of God in Bozeat.
Establishing mid week home groups
There are currently two home groups meeting in the village, both fortnightly, one on Tuesday evenings and the other on Thursday evenings. We believe home groups enable us to grow in our relationship with Jesus. They provide space for us to encourage one another, to practice using the gifts of the Spirit and to pray for each other.
